FAQs 🌿

At Pachamama, we understand that parting with a loved one is a sacred act of love and respect. With each of our biodegradable urns, we provide a means to honor the journey of life in harmony with Mother Earth. Below are some frequently asked questions to assist you during this meaningful transition.

1) Is any preparation needed for the urn?

No preparation is necessary. Each Pachamama urn arrives fully assembled and ready to be part of your ceremony, allowing you to focus on honoring your loved one without any additional concerns.

2) Can ashes be shared among loved ones?

Yes, our Small Urns are designed to hold a portion of ashes, making them ideal for sharing. For a complete ceremony, we recommend pairing one Medium or Large Urn with two to three Small Urns, depending on your needs.

3) How do Pachamama urns respect life and the environment?

Our urns are crafted from sustainable, biodegradable materials suitable for both water and earth burials. They are designed to merge respectfully with nature, honoring the natural cycle of life and return to the earth.

4) What is the journey of the urn?

Pachamama urns are temporary vessels of beauty, designed to seamlessly return to nature. Accompanied by a biodegradable bag for ashes, they fulfill their purpose whether set to float in water or buried in the earth, gracefully dissolving back into the natural environment.

5) How long do the urns float?

The floating duration of our urns ranges from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the size and environmental conditions at the time of the ceremony.

6) How quickly do the urns integrate into nature?

The urns and their biodegradable bags are designed to reintegrate into nature within about a week. The bag itself dissolves in water within 1 to 2 minutes, ensuring a dignified return to the earth.

7) Are the materials used in the urns safe for all environments?

Absolutely. All materials used in Pachamama urns are carefully selected for their environmental safety and biodegradability. They are non-toxic and sustainable, designed to nourish the earth and pose no harm to wildlife or aquatic life. This ensures that every farewell not only respects your loved one but also the planet.

8) What is the significance of the emblem inside each urn?

The emblem inside each Pachamama urn—a butterfly, dragonfly, or feather—is a meaningful nod to the possibility of ongoing communication and connection beyond the physical world. It is thoughtfully placed to potentially serve as a sign or signal for those in mourning, offering comfort and reminding us that our connections with loved ones can continue in subtle and profound ways after they have passed. This special touch reflects our belief in the enduring nature of love and the spiritual bonds that remain unbroken by death.

9) How can I incorporate a Pachamama urn into a memorial ceremony?

A Pachamama urn can be seamlessly incorporated into any memorial ceremony, whether it is a quiet, intimate gathering or a larger communal event. We provide guidelines on how to conduct both water and earth burials. Additionally, our team is available to offer ideas and support to ensure the ceremony is respectful, meaningful, and in harmony with your wishes and the essence of the loved one being honored.
